Cross stitch is a fabulous craft for kids and it is how I started on my crafting journey, but I rarely cross stitch nowadays. So when this cross stitch project appeared in my Winter 2019 Craftpod box I knew it would be enjoyable and got stitching straight away.
If you want to stitch any cross stitch project you will need:
Aida (a special even weave fabric for cross stitch)
Embroidery floss
Cross stitch needle (it’s a small tapestry needle with a blunt end)
Embroidery hoop (although you can cross stitch without one if your Aida is stiff enough)
Scissors
Pattern
There are lots of great cross stitch designs out there which you can search for on Google or Pinterest. You might also be able to get free access digital magazines via your Library - there are quite a few different cross stitch magazines out there. But it’s also quite easy to design your own cross stitch pattern - I use a website called Stitch Fiddle.
If you love the Craftpod design then keep an eye on their Instagram as they sometimes release past projects as one off kits.
