The cow parsley pattern is a great one to experiment with using different numbers of strands of floss to get different effects as there are different stem thicknesses and flower sizes in this design.
Most patterns suggest using one or two strands of floss to stitch with, but have you ever tried stitching with 3, 4, 5 or even all 6 strands?
In this blog post, I stitched some common embroidery stitches using different number of stitches to see what impact this had on the look. It's really interesting to see the difference between using one or two strands, let alone the difference between one and six strands.
